Aaron says:

I think the article was about how there are quite a few people/groups who say that abstinence is based in religion and opposed to choice and so shouldn't be taught in schools, etc. The proposed solution to the problem of rapes, STIs and unwanted pregnancy is condoms and sex education. The counter to that is the Silver Ring Thing, that says that abstinence is only possible by being in a personal relationship with Jesus. The real problem is the lack of a relationship with Jesus and the solution is to bring young Americans into that relationship, and hence sexual abstinence.

So the question asked is for the solution to sexual promiscuity. But ultimately, the question is whether we can even make right decisions.

So I reckon, as Christians, we can see that sexual promiscuity is just the manifestation of life without Christ. So the real solution is life with Christ. Abstinence should then be the fruit of that.
